Anupamaa is an Indian drama television series that debuted on July 13, 2020, on Star Plus, produced by Rajan Shahi under Director's Kut Productions. The series is adapted from the Bengali show Sreemoyee, originally aired on Star Jalsha. It features notable performances from Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Pandey.

The narrative centers around Anupamaa, a devoted housewife, mother, and daughter-in-law who diligently attends to the needs of her family while neglecting her own aspirations. This lack of love and respect from her family becomes increasingly apparent, prompting her to confront the reality of her situation and strive to reclaim her identity.

Throughout the series, Anupamaa endures humiliation from her husband Vanraj, her mother-in-law Leela, and her children Paritosh and Paakhi, who regard her as simply a homemaker lacking a formal education. In contrast, her younger son Samar, her brother-in-law Sanjay, father-in-law Hasmukh, Leela's brother Jignesh, and their domestic help Jhilmil provide her with much-needed support.

The dynamics shift as Vanraj develops an attraction to his colleague Kavya, who becomes insecure due to Anupamaa's presence. Anupamaa’s victory at a funfair organized by Paakhi's school leads to a job offer as a cooking teacher. Although Vanraj is initially unsupportive of this opportunity, Kavya persuades him to allow Anupamaa to work. Unfortunately, she faces dismissal because of punctuality issues exacerbated by Vanraj’s actions.

As the plot unfolds, tensions arise surrounding the marriage of Paritosh and Kinjal, with Kinjal's mother raising concerns after observing Anupamaa's struggles. This leads to further humiliation from Paritosh and Paakhi due to Anupamaa's educational background. Meanwhile, Devika begins to suspect the nature of Kavya and Vanraj's relationship and cautions Anupamaa, who remains steadfast in her belief in her husband.
